West Point Cadet Chapel. Dating back to the Revolutionary War, West Point was considered to be the most important strategic point in America by General George Washington. Fortifications were constructed there in 1779. In 1802, President Thomas Jefferson signed legislation establishing the United States Military Academy. The Cadet Chapel, dedicated in 1910, houses the largest church organ in the world.
