Located in Brooklyn, New York, Ebbets Field was home to the Brooklyn Dodgers of the NL between 1913 and 1957. The stadium was named after the club owner, Charlie Ebbets. The Dodgers won their only World Series in 1955. In a dispute with NY City Building Commissioner Robert Moses, then owner Walter O’Malley threatened to move the team to Los Angeles if he couldn’t build a new stadium in Brooklyn. Moses wanted the stadium built in Flushing Meadows. When an agreement couldn’t be reached, O’Malley moved the team after the 1957 season to LA. Ebbets field, which had a seating capacity of 32,000, was demolished on February 23, 1960.
